Standardization of Foreign Trade Communiqué on Import of some Products that are Subject to the Inspection of Ministry of Health (No: 2010/20)

The purpose of this Communiqué is to regulate the principles and procedures with regard to the conformity certification regarding market security and health, documentation, notification and inspection of the products, laid down in the attached lists (tobacco, tobacco products, alcohol and alcoholic beverages), in importation thereof.

2010/12 numbered Standardization for Foreign Trade Communiqué on Regulation of the Notification Principles for Cosmetic Products (O.J. Date/Number: 31.Dec.2009 / 27449 bis 2) is repealed.

Personal Protective Equipments to be imported shall comply with the provisions of Regulation on Personal Protective Equipments which was issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and safety requirements.

Toys to be imported shall comply with the provisions of Regulation on Toys which was issued by the Ministry of Health and safety requirements.

Radio and telecommunication terminal equipments to be imported shall comply with the provisions of Regulation on Radio and Telecommunication Terminal Equipment which was issued by Information Technologies and Communications Authority and safety requirements.

The purpose of this Regulation is to lay down the essential safety requirements to be complied with during design and manufacturing as well as the conformity assessment procedures to be followed, and the minimum criteria for assignment of notified bodies to carry out conformity assessment to ensure that machinery may be placed on the market and/or put into service only if it does not endanger the health and safety of persons and, where appropriate, domestic animals or property, when properly installed and maintained and used for its intended purpose or under conditions which can reasonably be foreseen.
